WV Education Foundation honored

During a Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) Awards Celebration, the West Valley Education Foundation was honored for its work supporting local students and staff. Founded in 2008, the WVEF assists young people in continuing their education and maximizing their potential. The foundation’s first scholarships totaling $4,000 were awarded in 2009 and since then, they have awarded over $400,000 in scholarship funds. The awards support post-secondary programs such as four-year universities, community colleges as well as vocation, technical and trade schools.

In addition to student scholarships, their teacher grant program has awarded over $45,000 in funds to support school programs across the district. And the foundation continues to grow through the group’s fundraising efforts and outreach (see westvalleyfoundation.org). WVSD is extremely thankful for this foundation and current board members who work so diligently to help our students and staff succeed!
